BRB… Going On Vacation

Starting Friday, I will be going to a continent that I’ve waited 34 years to see – Europe.

I’ll be flying into Amsterdam, spending a couple days there and then flying to Prague for another few days before returning home on October 6th. We have several things planned at both locations, but still going in with some flexibility.

In my 34 years of life, I haven’t done as much traveling as I really should have. Outside the US, I’ve been to Israel (2x), Costa Rica, and Cancun. Domestically, I took a teen tour around the country for a month and a half.

If you know me, you know my obsession is with sports – and that’s the main reason why I’m going on this trip.

The Philadelphia Flyers are playing the Chicago Blackhawks in an NHL Global Series game October 4th. The Tampa Bay Lightning play the Buffalo Sabres in Stockholm, Sweden, in November as the other Global Series game.

But yes… I get to go on vacation.

The last vacation I went on was to Florida two years ago.

The time before that? Two years prior to Costa Rica.

Wait a second…

I realize I go on a “big” vacation every two years or or so.

I am insanely excited to go on this trip and be immersed with history and also see a professional game in another country. Eight days in Europe may not be that long, but I will take full advantage of the time I have.

Take Time Off

We need to remind ourselves to go on a vacation and enjoy the world around us. Going through the daily grind means nothing if you’re not stepping away from it once in a while to experience new things.

As I’m typing this, I realize that I need to take my own advice. I don’t go down the shore, I don’t take weekend trips, and I work one full-time job and one part-time job. I don’t take any “me” time.

So, with an “out of office” almost on, I anticipate a trip of a lifetime and can’t wait to share my journey with you.

I might post here and there, but this week, it’s all about me!
