Now is the time to “seize the day” to see a Broadway show because there is “no day but today”.
I normally use TKTS in Times Square for discounted tickets, where you can get up to 50% the price of a ticket to a Broadway show, musicals and plays, hours before curtains go up.
The only caveat to TKTS is you don’t know what shows will be available until the day of, so go in with wanting to see any number of shows (except the truly hot tickets like The Lion King, Book of Mormon, and Hamilton: An American Musical).
Coming up January 21st to February 9th, Broadway holds its annual Broadway Week (technically 2.5 weeks) and that means discounted tickets of up-to 50% off.
Three years ago, I jumped on the chance to purchase Wicked tickets and don’t regret it for one second.
This year, shows include: Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations, Aladdin, Chicago, Come From Away, Jagged Little Pill, The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, Mean Girls, Wicked, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Frozen, Dear Evan Hanson, Beetlejuice, The Book of Mormon, and several others.
Now, tickets went on sale yesterday, so some shows, like Dear Evan Hanson, The Lion King, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Wicked will most likely be sold out by the time you get on the site but it never hurts to check.
Buy one ticket or take a friend and buy two.
Don’t like the view of the 50% off tickets, you can upgrade to closer seats for a little bit more. Be flexible for times and dates.
Check out the website https://www.nycgo.com/broadway-week/ before you miss out on some great Broadway shows!
If you’ve never seen a Broadway show, what better time than with a heavily discounted ticket?
Either way, the show must go on!
